Seattle Ink & Oil
Nearly ten years ago, we created a contrasting, modern take on a tattoo shop’s brand identity. Our aim was the keep it clean and simple, and stay out of the way of the art—the focus of the shop itself.
The shop was to be run with a new business model to support the artist as artist, and provide the space to practice fine arts beyond tattooing. This freedom allows the artists to express their own style and manage their own clientele.
As independent as it could be.
What we did:
Brand identity, Print design, Product and Signage

“Seattle Ink & Oil began with the idea that most artists simply need space to let their creativity free. We run our business to support our artists developing towards their fullest potential in a positive and inclusive community. All with an open mind and welcomed here with open, tattooed, arms.”

about SEATTLE INK & OIL
Seattle’s premier fine art and tattoo shop, open to everyone, since 2012.
They pride themselves on a professional approach to tattooing. The artists are timely, respectful, and patient throughout the process with the goal being to provide the highest quality experience possible.
The shop space is clean, always. Before the pandemic ushered in a wave of precautions and protections, SIAO have been keeping the space not only tidy but sanitary. Every effort is put into ensuring each tattoo is applied in the most sanitary conditions. The space is large and open, each artist working in their own large booth.
A tattoo is an important moment in ones life journey, and they take care to see it done right. Whatever the concept is, they will work with you to ensure it is brought to fruition and applied with great care to be as vibrant and crisp as possible. Each piece reflects not only a moment in ones life journey, but in theirs as artists, and they take pride and care in that.
